You may already be using traffic exchanges as a method to drive new visitors to your website, get more sign-ups on your mailings list and hopefully make money. But how effective is your time spent when you are using these free traffic exchanges?

Many time I show somebody a new traffic exchange site that I may be using and they tell me that they are not getting any respone, or maybe even that they think I am wasting their time.  I want to let you know, that yes, these can be huge waste of time, if you do not understand how to use them correctly.

Here Are The Rules To Effectively Use Any Traffic Exchange System:

1. Register For Many Traffic Exchanges, not Just one

The reason for this is that you in some cases can surf more than one simultaneously to generate more free traffic.  I would never open a bunch of tabs, but maybe 3-4.   The rule of thumb is that if you can carry on a conversation while surfing, you need to focus more and look at the pages you are supposed to be viewing, you should respect that this is what you are wanting your viewers to do and should do the same for them.

2. Always Pay Attention

You need to pay attention to the web pages in the traffic exchange not just from a ethical standpoint, but if you do not you may miss out on a good opportunity or even worse, miss out on the free market research.  If you pay close attention you will notice that there are some pages that get shown more frequently and in some cases almost back to back.  Now these are the ones you want to keep your eyes on, because either they are paid listings or there are many people that are promoting the same program and either way, you want to make sure to pay special attention to these ones.

What are they offering?
How is there page setup?
Do they ask for action?
Do they use video or audio?

These are the kind of questions you can ask yourself and using the answers to these questions you can change and make your own web page that is in rotation more effective from what you learn.

3. Cross Promote Always

If you have registered for more than one of these traffic exchanges, make sure to put your affiliate link from site A in rotation on site B.  Why?  Well there is one thing we know for sure about every user that is on a traffic exchange and that is, THEY ARE LOOKING FOR TRAFFIC!

So use this to your advantage to refer new members to your down-line on each traffic exchange you use.  When you have successfully referred a new person to one of these sites, you will earn some percentage of that persons credits earned as long as they stay active on the site, some will give you as much as 20% of the credits that your referrals earn.

Most of the major traffic exchanges do also offer a upgraded package and in some cases these are very reasonable offers. Make sure to look for the ones that will put random referrals in your down-line and also give a good amount of free credits when you upgrade. This will help you get the most out of your money spent if you decide to do the upgrade.

4. My Site Is Not Getting Clicks or Sign-ups!

Well if you are having problems getting any response from your surfing, there is one little secret that most will only tell you in their 50 dollar ebooks.  If you want people to take action on traffic exchanges don’t send them to an article page or even your home page.  If you send somebody to a standard web page, the odds are you are not going to get very good results from these systems.  Remember, people only see you pages for between 10-30 seconds, so they are not going to have time to decide if they want to buy from you.

So no sales pages, that is if you want to get the most out of your efforts that is.  You need a capture page, a squeeze page, or a lead generation page.  No matter what you want to call it, you have all seen these pages, the ones that have a big headline, either a picture or a quick video and a place to register.

These pages are designed for quick decisions and that is precisely what people are going to have to do when they are surfing a traffic exchange, decide that they are interested enough to get registered, join a email list, or give up their email address in exchange for something free that you can offer.

You will never see any of the big companies linking to their homepage, unless the occasional need to raise alexa rankings.  I almost forgot about this one, even if you never get a click in your life from traffic exchanges, these sites can really boost ones PR and Alexa rankings, if that is something you are concerned with.

5. How Often Do I Need To Surf?

Well, there are a lot of ways to answer that and I guess it really comes down to how much time to spend on your online marketing efforts in a week.  I really try to surf for about 20 minutes a day.  I do not have another job so this seems like a very small investment of my days work.  If you only have a couple hours a week to dedicate to growing your online business, maybe you can sit down for one 30 minute session once a week.  It really is up to you and your rewards are multiplied by surfing for longer periods of time, so you will want to pay close attention to each site you join and see how their surf ratios and rewards change for x amount of sites viewed.

My Personal Top 3 Traffic Exchanges

I have signed up for many traffic exchanges through out the years. Some of the traffic exchanges worked, some didn’t. But some really worked! That is what this blog post is about, the ones that do work. Guys, it is a jungle out there as you all know and there are many loopholes and sites that just don’t work, so take my experience and learn from it without wasting your own time.

1. Traffic Swarm – Guys this is simply the best out there, hands down. You get the best return rate on your clicks, plus you can make your own ads, to pre-qualify clicks. If you are not a member here, you are really missing out.

2. Easy Hits 4 U – This traffic exchange is one of the fastest growing out there so if you are going to build a down-line on one of these traffic exchages, this is the easiest to promote and produce more unique visitors from other peoples clicks.

3. Traffic G – We have had more response in the last 2 months from this traffic program than any other that we participate in. Guys views on this traffic network are like gold nuggets in your pocket!

Well I suppose that the title got you interested and I promise that I won’t disappoint.  There really are some methods that one can use to create unlimited and fresh content to any web site in the world and I am going to show you how to do it for free.

There is so much hype and misconception on the internet,  about duplicate content and RSS feeds these days. So, that in mind,  to start off, I wanted to put some of the rumor to rest.

Are websites that use duplicate content punished by google?

Well in a way, I guess you could say that, duplicate content will not get your banned or removed from google’s search results, it will simply not give credit to a site if it notices that the same article has already been indexed.  However the overall value of an article and its content even if it is duplicate can be valuable to a websites over all ranking and keyword density.

So does google really penalize for duplicate content?

The answer is No, google simply does not reward you for having duplicate content.

For all the naysayers out there I want to draw your attention to a website of mine that I use nothing but RSS feeds to build content on, meaning that I have never wrote an article for or even posted to the blog, ever!

The site is Cheap Joint – Online Deals

The reason I use this site for an example is that it is easy to see that the site is fulled daily with updates from many sites using an RSS feed reader and google has still assigned it the Page Rank of 2.  This is simple proof that if RSS feeds are used correctly and “blended” that your site can still get as much attention from the search engines as if you had written each update yourself.

Now, this site does have over 10,000 posts on it, so I for one am glad that I did not have to spend the time to add all these posts to it, but this is what I am interested in talking about in this article.  Anybody can build a site just like this one for cheap if not free.

What You Need To Automate Your Site With Fresh Content

I have added the free plugins “all in one adsense and ypn” and “wp-o-matic” to take full advantage of automating my blog.  You never have to post and never have to add your google ads using these plugins and they are free! All you will need is a good web host that offers free wordpress installs and a domain name!

This is just one example of how you can use rss feeds to create fresh content for any website.  If you are not using a wordpress blog there are other software’s out there that will take rss feeds using php and generate html code from the feeds automatically as well.  The fact is that using rss is an unlimited source for fresh content on any topic imaginable and if you are not able to keep up with your blog this may be a great way for you to fill in the holes, so to speak with updated content to keep your blog looking filled up with up to date info on your topic or niche and it costs nothing.

There are other tools that can really assist as far as making money with the automated content you are feeding your site.  Here is another example of a site that is being feed with nothing but rss feed data : Cheap Nokia Phones

This site uses a paid for script that lets you make feeds from amazon, click bank and other popular affiliate sites, using your own affiliate code to make a blog full of your own affiliate products.  Again, this is automatically feed, so you can see how easy it is to setup an automated money machine using this script.
